A member of your family who is an EEA national currently resides permanently in the UK.

A member of the citizen’s family

Keep in mind that if you spend more than two years outside of the UK, your approval for permanent residence may be revoked.

You may remain in the UK for the duration of your student visa under existing legal requirements. As a result, you are permitted to use your student visa to stay in the nation for up to 12 months after receiving your degree. You have a better chance of switching to another visa and staying in the UK for longer if you spend this time well.

You must:

    • Have stayed and worked in the UK for 5 years

There are certain rules as to what counts towards your 5 years residence and work experience in the UK; In any 12-month period, you must not have traveled outside of the UK for more than 180 days.

If you’ve had more than one visa in those periods of five years, you can only combine the years on those visas if they are:

Typically, you must receive at least whichever of the following is highest:

£25,600 annually

£10.10 for each hour

You do not have to be paid £25,600 if the main job you’re sponsored for is on the list of healthcare and education shortage occupations or if it’s on the list of all other shortage occupations

You are also exempted if your Occupation was on any of these lists at the time of applying for your Skilled Worker or Tier 2 (General) visa.

The earliest you can apply is 28 days before you’ve been in the UK for 5 years on a qualifying visa. Check which visas count towards your time in the UK. Your application may be refused if you apply earlier.

Do not wait till the expiration of your present visa. You must first renew your visa if it expires before you may submit an application for indefinite leave to remain. Each applicant must pay £2,404. If they qualify, you can list your partner and kids on the same application.

There is no charge for taking your biometric data, which consists of your fingerprints and a photo. If you submit your application through the normal method, you’ll typically hear back within six months. You cannot travel outside of the UK while your application is being processed. To do that would amount to your application being withdrawn.
